Lunch

We had our lunch at the Gaylord Hotel. It was very beautiful! We had quite the spread. I think Cole's view of heaven will be nothing but buffets for food. He loves buffets! We were stuffed!

Coleman would smile everytime right after I took a picture. People were stopping by saying how cute he was!

Our lunch was on the Riverwalk. It really did look like we were in San Antonio.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving day at Cole's grandparents' house. They have the best backyard! Coleman had a little photo shoot with the leaves. He is sooo cute!

Santa

We took the kids to see Santa on Wednesday night. This is the first year Chloe did not freak out with Santa. She told him what she wanted for Christmas (necklace, bracelet and watch and for Coleman a baby toy). She was so sweet to watch talking to him. Coleman did pretty good too. I think he was in awe of his beard.

We spent Thanksgiving this year with Cole's family. Chloe loved playing with her grandparents and her cousins.

Party

Chloe got to go to a Birthday party last Saturday. She loves birthdays. Every morning she plays like it is her birthday party. We go and get all of her friends and go to her party. She couldn't walk at the party so her fun was limited. She did get her nails painted by Cinderella. She loved that! Happy 4th birthday, Kaitlynn!

Last night Chloe made her singing debut at church. Her class did a great job infront of a sanctuary full of people. As usual, Chloe hammed it up and is well on her way to becoming a future American Idol!

Craft Fair

When I was at my parent's house last week my mom and I went to a craft fair. Now this was no ordinary craft fair, this was a North Dallas Craft Fair. For those of you who are not familiar with North Dallas this means you must have two things: 1) valet parking and 2)mimosas. How many craft fairs are this pretentious? I mean come on it is a craft fair people! This would be one of the few reasons I don't mind living in North Dallas anymore.

7 months

Coleman is seven months! (Well he has been for about a week now)

Coleman,

Over the past seven months of your life you have grown so much. It is hard to believe you are still that little baby we brought home from the hospital. You are such a smiley little boy and I love that. I love how you are so free in giving those smiles out! You are such a great crawler now. You bypassed the whole military crawl that your sister did, and just went straight to a full out crawl. You started eating meats this past month and you don't seem to like them unless I mix them with some veggies. You sure do love to babble and you esp. love to say daddy. I know that in your heart you are screaming mommy! You still are a mommy's boy! You also still love to be outside and you love being held while we are standing, no sitting for this little on the go boy. You occasionally suck your thumb, but it usually lasts for about ten seconds. I just love you so much! You are my little guy!

16 years ago

Almost 16 years ago to the day (can't really remember the actual date) I felt very much the way I have felt today. Pretty much sadness. Some of you may not know this about me, but I have always loved politics. I was even going to major in it in college, until I thought, "what would I do with this degree?". When I was in 4th grade I wanted to be the Gov. of TN, not really sure why TN? Anyways with two kids I really do not have the time to follow politics like I used to.
16 years ago I was in high school and it was time for another presidential race Bush Sr. vs Clinton. I was a Young Republican and was willing to help out my party. My friend Danielle and I volunteered at the polls. We stood our safe distance from the doors and let everyone know (nicely) who to vote for. I know I sound like a total nerd, but I lived in D.C. so of course politics was all around me. Then the night of the election we went to a watch party and had to watch my candidate loose. It was awful! How could we elect this man to our office. Well, he spent his 8 years in office and basically our country was shown that the highest office you can hold in our nation had no moral compass. Pretty much anything went! Then we had another president who was in office. I know he made some mistakes (who doesn't), but I believe people hated him b/c of what he stood for. The media hated the fact that he is a Christian so they crucified him on tv, and caused others to hate him as well. He still holds my vote of confidence and if he were running today, I would proudly vote for him again. Last night made me reminisce of that night 16 years ago. It is not fun to watch your team loose. I am worried about the direction our country is heading. What will happen after four years? I pray it will only be 4 and not 8. I am hoping the GOP can regroup and create a powerhouse ticket for the next election. My vote is Bobby Jindal. I don't think it will be Palin. I am hoping that for the next 4 years God will protect us from of the awful things I see in store for us. I don't usually write a lot on my blog, but just wanted to ramble for a bit!

Coleman's dedication

We had Coleman's baby dedication on October 26th. The pictures of me during the dedication are awful so I chose the least worst one to put on here. I am not sure why we have no pics of Cole or Bubba, maybe it is because a little girl was not in a great mood-later to find out she had an ear infection. But, all in all it was a special day. I had asked some friends of a good keepsake for Coleman to mark the day. No one could think of anything-it is so much harder to buy these kinds of things for a boy. So, I made a prayer box. There are 31 verses in it, one for each day of the month. We can pray these verses daily for him. I also gave one to each set of grandparents so they too can pray for our little guy.

Prayer Request

I would ask everyone to pray for a girl that went to Baylor with me, Kristi. She was a couple years younger than me, but we were in the same sorority. She is married and has three little boys. Here is an excerpt from her website:

During Kristi's third trimester of pregnancy with Zane she started experiencing extreme back and hip pain, requiring her to be put on bedrest. On Friday, October 17th, Kristi was admitted for an emergency C-section due to what was believed to be 'Hellp Syndrome'.

Kristi was transported to UNC Hospital following the birth, and after several days of extensive testing, the doctors diagnosed Kristi with Stage IV breast cancer with metastasis in the liver, spine and pelvis.

Chuck and Kristi are believers in the Truth of the Bible and in salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. They believe in the power of prayer and that this is truly the greatest help to them.

Voting and Greece

Cole is in Greece this week. Please pray for him the last time he was there he got in a little trouble for sharing how Great our God is!! He will be posting about his trip on his blog and he has a couple of great videos on voting there right now. Check it out!
