playdough time

Today we played with playdough while Coleman took a 10 minute nap. She loves to make watches and bracelets. Today we added to her collection and made earrings and a necklace too.

PAT

We had our very last Parents' As Teachers visit on Monday. When you are three you no longer get to be in the program. It was a fun thing to do once a month. Here Chloe is making some cute coffee filter butterflies.

Earrings

Chloe got these earrings and tiara from her "boys" for her birthday. She loves them! I took these pics not b/c her hair looked gorgeous, but b/c of where she puts the earrings on. It cracks me up! She is such a girly girl! I just love that about her!

War Wounds

These pics aren't that great, but I wanted to show Coleman's war wound. He loves to climb and crawl and so he gets lots of knicks and bruises. This little raspberry was from church.

Avery Hair

We call this our Avery hair b/c Avery obviously wears her hair like this! Doesn't she look so cute!

Ballet

This look says it all! She and Avery are in the same ballet class now. Could she be any more excited?

What a week

We have had a roller coaster emotional week since last Friday. On Friday we took the kids for their check-ups. Chloe had her three year old check-up and Coleman had his nine month check-up. Chloe is in great health!!! Coleman did not even make a percentage on the weight chart. Immediately that freaked me out. I know he is small, but I really didn't think he was that small. He eats a lot! When our doctor came in he mentioned ruling out Cystic Fibrosis with a sweat test. My pediatrician is so laid back, which is awesome b/c he usually keeps me very calm. When he said that I should have thought about how laid back he said it, but when you hear your child could possibly have a disease I think you forget about being rationale. He said if he gained enough weight then he would not have the test. I decided to switch to formula just to see if that would make any difference. I am still trying that out, not sure yet if it is making a difference. There was no way he could gain enough weight before the test. We went ahead and had the sweat test on Tuesday. The nurse told me she would let me know the results, but she really wasn't supposed to. She told me the tests showed he was borderline and the doctor would either issue another test or interpret it how he saw fit. I got a little over emotional and probably had a mini-breakdown. Cole called the doctor and found out the scale to base his results on was different than what she had said. So, I know a lot of people thought bad thoughts about the nurse, but I should never have asked her to tell me. So, all this to say my baby does not have CF. We will see how his weight looks in April and then go from there. It is interesting b/c this year I have decided to try and teach Chloe a characteristic of God each month and at the beginning of January we decided to do healer. I figured since she loved to play doctor so much this would be a great start. Even though Coleman was not cured of CF I do think it was a way of God showing me that He is the great Healer and I just might need to remember that!!!!!

New way to carry your baby

I thought this was amusing! This is how Chloe was carrying baby Christy this morning. Trust me she did not learn this from me. And yes her babie's name is Christy. She wants to name all of her babies Christy, but Cole makes her change the names. I can't believe he does not want me to have all of those namesakes!

Nursing Home Visit

A few of us decided to take our kids to a local nursing home to sing the residents some songs. We thought it would be a great way to teach our kids to serve and also introduce them to some people they normally would not come into contact with. I know it looks like I am in charge, but I wasn't. We sang a bunch of songs and the residents were so sweet. They clapped a bunch. After singing we went around and shook hands with the residents. This was defintely the nicest nursing home I have ever been in. I frequently visited both of my great-grandmothers in their nursing homes, and had no idea a nursing home could be this nice and not smell so bad. I am glad my kids got to experience this and hope to do it often. Coleman just sat so nicely in his stroller the whole time!

Pinkalicious

Just to let you know upfront this idea was totally stollen from my friend Jessica. When Chloe got this book for Christmas I just knew we had to make pink cupcakes like Claire and Jessica did. Chloe is all about cooking. She is so funny she kept asking if she would be able to have a cupcake when they were finished, but wanted to make sure she would not turn pink. I will have to take some pics of the finished product. This girls loves pink!!!!!

Happy Almost Birthday

Let the festivities begin, Chloe is about to be 3! We must get good use of our birthday pillowcase so we sleep with it for our entire birthday month! Thanks Maw Maw for making it for us! Chloe is so ready for her birthday she will tell anyone who will listen that she is about to be three.

9 months

It is so much harder to take these pics now. When I took them with Chloe I took one every week on the day of the week she was born (or at least tried to) and I had to quit b/c I could not get her to stay still. I am going to make myself take all 12 pics of Coleman even if they are not the greates. The 12 mo. onesie is getting tighter!

Dear Sweet Coleman,

Has it really been nine months that you were introduced into our lives? In some ways it seems like just yesterday, but in other ways it seems like you have always been a part of our lives. You have continued to amaze us this past month. You are getting so strong. You love to cruise, and it seems like you could just take off and walk on your own. A few times you have stood all by yourself. You love to wave! Especially when it is someone you know, you wave and just smile and giggle. You are so full of sweet smiles! Maw Maw and I swear we heard you even say a hi when you were waving. You still love your sweet potatoes, I think you might even be turning a little orange. You are crazy about puffs, I can't let you see the container until I am ready to give them to you. You also enjoy bread and pancakes. You still love your sister and you love to play in her room. We could spend hours in there and you would be content. You also love to climb and pretty much maneuver your way around, underneath and on top of things. You are so easy going. You just go with the flow. One of my favorite things you do is when I put you down for bed you nestle your head in my neck. You are my sweet little cuddle bug! I just love you so much and am so grateful that God specifically placed you in all of our lives-you are our blessing!-love, mommy

My girl

And not to leave her out, I LOVE this girl!!!!!!! She is so awesome, I can't believe she is almost three. She makes me laugh everyday! I think she wanted to try every outside toy to make sure they all still worked! I said no to the sand table that day.

My Boy

Can I just say I love this boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here are some pics of Coleman taken with my new camera!!! He has so many different faces he likes to flash. We had a somewhat warmer day last week so went to go play on Chloe's homegroup a.k.a. playset.

New Year's Eve

For New Year's Eve I was so lucky to be able to spend it with some of my college friends. Jess and Jack have an annual marble slab party, and they let us crash it. Can I just say that I have the BEST friends. It is hard to believe that I have known most of these girls for almost 14 year! Wow, that really dates me! Although I am not as lucky to live by these girls, I still feel when I am around them it has just been a couple of days since we last hung out! They make me laugh so much! I really treasure these friendships! Kristin-did not mean to leave you out, you left before I took these pics!!!!

first post of the new year!

We went to the FW Childrens' museum during our Christmas Break, we did this last year too! On Cole's side of the family Chloe and Coleman have four other cousins. What is funny is that 4 of the kids Chloe, twins and Blake Jr. were all born within a five month period, so they are all close in age! Needless to say it is always almost impossible to take a group pic!
