On Fridays, Chloe's class gets to go to the library-this was the first book she chose!

French Fry Friday

My friend, Annie, had a great idea for Fridays-French Fry Friday!

We went to good old McD's for an after school treat.

I learned that a large fry is way too big for the three of us.

I might switch this up some with frozen Friday.

First Day of Kindergarten! Part 2

The first day of Kindergarten seemed to drag on!

I was ready to go get my baby girl.

I had a little snack made for her-chocolate chip oatmeal cookies

We all went to go get Chloe and she decided she wanted to walk home.

So, Cole took the boys and drove home while we walked.

We live close to our school, but it is a bit of a walk.

Going in the door, we might have had a few streamers to celebrate the HOMECOMING!

That night for dinner we had Chloe's favorites: Broccoli Chicken Casserole and Dirt for dessert.

This is actually the second day of school when we finally got to meet our teacher.

First Day of Kindergarten! Part 1

Monday, August 22, 2011 was the first day of Kindergarten for Chloe.

I have been dreading this day! Our lives will never be the same.

We will never just get to be lazy on weekday mornings anymore!

Please excuse me while I cry!

Even though neither Chloe or myself were looking forward to this day,

I still wanted to try and make it special!

She woke up to a gift and a special poem just for her.

The gift was a heart locket so she could have us close to her heart during school.

The breakfast she asked for: fruit, pigs in a blanket and banana bread.

A sweet church friend came over to watch the boys so we could take

Chloe to school all by herself. It is the first time I have

ever heard Clay cry when I was leaving him.

We didn't want to mess with the school traffic so we parked across the school and walked over. Love this picture!

Getting to school her teacher was not there so we were told just to put her supplies in a cubby and put her backpack up.

She then went to sit on the rug.

We waited for awhile, but then eventually had to leave.

That was HARD!

Chloe was quiet and cautious about being there.

She didn't cry, but she wasn't happy about being there either.

We left Chloe with a male sub.

I am sure he was nice, but who wants to leave their baby on the first day of school with a sub?

We had no clue why her teacher wasn't there or when she would be back.

I was really sad, I am not going to lie.

I was ready to yank her out and bring her home.

I needed to get out of the house and start thinking about something else.

We were going to Sam's when I got a text from a friend telling me Chloe's school was on lockdown. What? I went into freak out mode! I called Cole, and he called the school.

There was an armed robbery right down the street so the school automatically went into lockdown mode. I pulled into the school parking lot where I saw a cop car and the Superintendent go into the building. As I was crying on the phone with Cole, I saw an administrator who goes to our church, pull up.

I am sure he thinks I am a total freak, but I was crying and asking him what was going on.

Finally, I drove us back home and we waited at the house.

I am sure I had way too many breakdowns.

About an hour later I heard that the school was no longer on lockdown.

Praise the Lord, my girl was safe and she had no idea what was going on.

I felt so helpless not being able to even see her.

This was not a fun first day, but we got through it.

I know the Lord will protect her, and I must keep remembering that!

First Day Lunch

Also, that night we had a little gift left on the door-super cute!

New School Supplies

Isn't it so fun to have new school supplies!

New Bible Fellowship teachers

I like to document who my kids Bible Fellowship teachers are every year, because quite frankly they are investing in the most important aspect of my kids' lives!

Chloe has the I am not going to look into the camera phase going on!

Our neighbors are her teachers and they are awesome!

And Coleman has Chloe's old teachers Ms. Kelly and Ms. Debbie.

The first day I dropped him off might have been the easiest transition for him ever!

They are so good with kids!

Every Sunday they have play dough ready to go so the kids can get playing right away.

A sweet year!

This summer I found this really cute cup at my favorite store-Home Goods!

As soon as I saw it I thought that would be perfect for a meet the teacher gift.

Who knew Sweet tarts would be so find!

This little cup made it to meet the teacher, the first day of school, and finally the second day of school the cup made it to the teacher.

New Clothes

I almost forgot to take a picture while we were at the mall, but thankfully remembered right before we left! A week before school started Chloe and I went to look for a new outfit. It was a little hard to shop for an outfit in August when all the fall clothes are out. We finally found a dress at Gymboree. Chloe is like me, she doesn't like to shop. Everything I held up, she'd say that's fine. She said she liked the dress we got and I was sold!

Church Kindergarten Breakfast

I have been thinking about Chloe going to Kindergarten for entirely too long.

I had the idea a couple of years ago to have a Kindergarten breakfast at church when the kids promote. My friend Delanee who works at my parent's church does this and it is awesome.

Well, I thought at my church the kids move upstairs when they go to Kindergarten so we would have a moving on up party. This past January our pre-k classes were so big that we had to move upstairs. Way to ruin my plan, just kidding. I am glad our church has grown so much!

So, I just did a welcome to Kindergarten breakfast with some of the other moms.

There ended up being about 35 kids in there and it was a little chaotic!

My friend Shelley made the cute rulers and my friend Annie made cute little bags of gum balls and wrote about having a ball in Kindergarten. The kids had doughnuts, fruit skewers and juice.

Just another way to celebrate those kids we love!

Little Gideon

The other day I was reading my Bible (please note that I do not read my Bible enough in front of my kids, this is really convicting me just writing this). Coleman ran to get his Bible and wanted to read too. He has been a little obsessed with David and Goliath lately, which took me a long time to understand what he was trying to tell me. I think he likes that story so much because David used a stone (resembling a ball) and killed Goliath. He would read aloud to me, which might have been one of the most precious things ever! Never mind that half the time is Bible was upside down! Love that boy!

Rangers Game

Thanks to Uncle Blake for working at a law firm that has offices at the stadium, we get to take advantage of the suite! We went with Cole's brother's family and Cole's dad to the game.

We had a great time. Of course the best time is when we go play all the games. Two kids before Coleman hit the ball, the mascot came and chose the batter of the game.We were so close!
