I have no pictures to post because right now I am separated from my camera cord. That usually happens to me when I am in the mood to blog. I wanted to just document a few things about my kids so basically I don't forget. I also have not really blogged much about my pregnancy, not really sure why? So here goes:
I have been thinking about Coleman's obsessions. He is obsessed with lemonade (although that has let up a bit), his brown mimi a.k.a. his brown blanket, doggy (Cole tries to make him name his stuffed animals, but Coleman doesn't cave), baseball and his upcoming baseball birthday party, really any sport, and his daddy. He also really likes Ruby and Max (that is his way of saying it), as of today Bob the Tomato, little figurine of Pablo and waffles for breakfast.
Coleman and I have a bedtime routine that we do every night that I put him down. Cole puts him down most nights and from what I can hear it is pretty similar to mine. We sit in his rocking chair say a prayer, Sing Jesus loves me together and then he tells me baseball song. We then sing Take Me Out to the Ball Game. I put him down and cover him with his blue mimi, while he is holding his brown mimi. He will say "baseball game" a couple of times and waits for me to say Baseball Coleman.
Coleman has finally started saying his name when asked, but it sounds more like Oleman. If you tease him and call him silly or some other name he will say no, my name is Oleman. He has stopped calling Chloe just sister and now calls her by name. I really miss hearing all day long Sister! I hope he will resort back to calling her that. Coleman has started school and is very happy he doesn't go everyday. He has done really well with school though and when we go pick up Sister he wants to know where Miss Mary (one of his teachers) is.
When Coleman and I are by ourselves he talks my ear off! If you know Coleman you probably know that he is very shy! Which makes the fact that he is such a chatterbox so funny. He only really does this to me, which is also funny since he loves his daddy more than anyone. I keep asking Cole if has he started talking his ear off yet? I guess this is just testimony to the fact that boys really don't talk much when they are together.
Coleman has really taken to talking to Baby Clay. Most every morning he wants to stick his finger in my belly button and say "good morning baby Clay". I think he thinks that if he sticks his finger in my belly button, baby Clay can feel and hear him. He loves to kiss my tummy and talk to baby Clay. Every once in awhile he will even share his brown mimi with Baby Clay.
There is not a moment that doesn't go by that I don't look at Coleman and just think this is the cutest boy on Earth. He really melts my heart. Even when he is doing something extremely ornery, I can't help but think how is this boy so cute? I love him so much!!!!!
Chloe doesn't seem to go through the obsessions like Coleman. She loves music and dancing. Give this girl a space and she will dance all over it. The girl loves to "write" her own songs and sing them as loud as possible. She still loves her princesses and babies. And her favorite baby is still Baby Christy! Her favorite show is still Curious George and she also loves the Fresh Beat Band.
Chloe is my little artist. She would do art projects all day if I let her, I just don't like to have to clean up after art projects all day. Oh I did think of one obsession of Chloe's. I don't think there is a day that goes by that we don't talk about snakes. She has some kind of question about them. About two months ago she, Cole and Coleman found a copperhead and this can not get out of her mind. She doesn't seem terrified of them like her Mommy, but she wants to make sure she knows everything about them and where they might be. In fact Cole is on a trip right now and she was very concerned about him running into any snakes.
Chloe is in pre-k this year. She loves school and she loves her teachers. She wants to make them pictures almost every day. I am really dreading next year when she goes to school all day every day. Maybe something will happen and we will go to half day kindergarten. Yeah right!
Chloe has always been a daddy's girl. If you ask her she will definitely tell she is a daddy's girl!!! But she really isn't as much as she used to be. She wants to be around her mommy more and more, which makes me happy! I always put her down first at night. We read two books or a chapter of a chapter book. Turn off the light say our prayers and then sing songs. Lately, she has been wanting to pray all by herself and if you could hear this girl pray you would think she was the most charismatic little girl. There is always lots of praising going on in her prayers. Chloe also likes to throw in every once in awhile, "and God help everyone to be put in the game". Not really sure where that comes from???? Then Cole comes in and they talk for a few minutes. Sometimes she tries to stall by getting one more time with mommy.
Chloe is also excited about Baby Clay, but she is still really wanting us to have one more baby so she can have a sister. If I could guarantee it sweet girl, I would do it just for you! Nothing would make me happier to give that girl a sister, but it just might not be in God's plan. She is going to be such a great big sister again. Even at the age of two she was so helpful with baby Coleman, so I know she will be even more helpful now.
I just adore Chloe. She is so much joy to have in our family! I always say her spiritual gift in encouraging (and Coleman's is gratitude). She is always there to say a sweet word of encouragement to everyone in our family. I love to cuddle with my girl. I look at her and see that when she becomes a young woman she not only will be a daughter, but a sweet friend. I hope the road getting to an adult friendship will be easy:) I think she is so beautiful. Those big brown eyes are going to melt hearts! She just has so many pretty features.
I just feel so blessed by my kids! Which brings me to blogging about baby number three. I can't wait to meet baby Clay either at the end of December or beginning of January. I am 25 weeks along and am feeling pretty good. I can't really complain about my pregnancies. I am starting to feel more and more movement, which I love. I can remember being awake in the middle of the night with Coleman and him kicking my tummy and just loving it! It is so reassuring to me to feel movement. I think Clay is going to look like Coleman. I don't know why, but I just picture him having blonde hair and blue eyes too. As soon as I knew Coleman was a boy I just knew he would have my features, not sure why? I am ready to add baby Clay to our family and see how everyone reacts when he does make his entrance.
And I can't blog about all of God's blessings and not mention the biggest blessing, Cole. I am really proud of Cole right now he is finally getting his dissertation done! Give that boy some pressure and he pulls through. He stays up late every night working on his paper. I know he is going to be so thankful when it is all done! Hopefully we are looking at a May graduation. He has had so much on his plate as our church has relocated into our new building and he still makes an effort to spend time with the kids. Love you babe!
